Warhammer 40K is Newbie Proof

Postby Ishpeck » Mon Dec 14, 2015 10:37 am

Every time I say to myself "Okay, it's time to deep-dive into WH40K lore and really get a handle on this world" I find that I end up with more footnotes of "WTF IS THIS?" than I have answers.

Every single summary of some part of 40K history includes the comment "Please note we're completely skipping this other pivotal piece of history for the sake of brevity" ... in a 200 page document.

I like this about 40K. It's good that their mythos accepts that a galaxy-wide society would have to operate on a cosmic scale. But damn, it takes commitment to understand any part of this mess.

'Cept, for some reason, the Eldar. They seem pretty straight forward.

I love both FB and 40K. Although they just massively 'rebooted' all things FB so I'm completely out of the loop on that.

When I sent my wife this video https://youtu.be/6QBvH9dyY2U she thought it was a joke.

It's something I adore about the universe. You don't get to keep your cliche fantasy comforts even when it seems like you should be able to.
