... is that you can be committing it while using it as the premise for your dissent.

It's like the Y Combinator of logical fallacies.

Clearly sexist in favor of men and their "Y" chromosome.

Agreed, I'm not sure the direction TD wants to take this. I got the sense he didn't want me to be too overbearing in changing things, and not "take things over", so I held back a little.

Think we need some input on how to make changes to enliven the place a little bit, with him being the prime mover, so to speak.

I'm fine with others doing the proverbial moving. I still hate phpbb in this context, and still think it's going to be months before many in the RR have their own reckoning with where things have gone.

Ishy is the most passionate/vocal about it. Ishy, what say you? You want to set something up?

Okay.
Let me know how you want to proceed. I know you don't like LInux, we have a Rackspace server w/Ubuntu that hosts this forum now. You want to put something together and when you're ready TD can shift the domain to your site?

Or we can give you access to this server.

The proverbial ball is in your proverbial court.

I won't be able to start until after Wednesday.

I can work on anything that'll run nodejs and nginx.

Well, a quick skim through the RR first page indicates Myself, Meat, IL, Tssha, and slinky seem to compromise about 3/4 of the activity on the RR. But considering the recent events, that's not too surprising. The second page is more balanced, but adding Fron and Vektor to the mix probably nets close to 2/3rds of that page. Lothos, Ravil, Dorg, and Legacy carry most of the remaining balance for the past month.

The RR has been operating almost exclusively on forum.operational.net for nearly a year now. I think parking a selection page on forum.cwal.net is perhaps well overdue at this point. It seems "CWAL" made a choice, and I doubt most of them are obsessive compulsive enough to open all of my NT posts to find the two or three that linked back here.

Taking proposals for that splash/selection page, as I'm too lazy to do more than an ultra minimalist and ugly as f*ck page with two links. ;)

I'm thinking of something referencing Ozymandius may be fitting for this purpose. But I'm too lazy to do the work at this point in time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozymandias
Percy Bysshe Shelley wrote:I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Honorable mention goes to Fron.

For anyone else who followed the link here from facebook. The next iteration of the RR is underway, no eta just yet beyond "soon." But this is available as an option in the interim, just beware of the spam bots.

phpbb is horrible for many reasons.
