Unix was used on minicomputers, not on mainframes.

I've used mainframes,the OS Is way more terrible than either WIndows or Unix. VSE/ESA was the system and it was and is terrible.

The bank I worked at a decade ago ran AIX, and it was on a pizza box server, not a mainframe.
